Students of BS in Horticulture in Kórnik Arbretum
In June, bachelor students of Horticulture took one-day field classes on Plant diversity.
Students together with the lecturer (dr Piotr Kosiński) went to the Kórnik Arboretum where a rich collection of trees and shrubs originating from various parts of the northern temperate zone is located. Arboretum has around 3500 taxa including a particularly high number of species representing the woody flora of East Asia and North America as well as the mountains of Central Asia and the Caucasus.
Students visited also the herbarium of the Institute of Dendrology of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Kórnik as well as the neogothic Kórnik Castle which currently houses a museum and the Kórnik Library.
